This switch sits in the front casing of the transfer box on Defender & Discovery 2s to tell the vehicles ECU when low range is selected. While failure of this doesnt stop the vehicle, it can leave the ECU assuming the car is in low range which restricts the fuelling and alters the engine mapping. It can also stop your cruise control working where fitted.
